CASTLE CLOSED until further notice

 due to coronavirus restrictions

We want to thank everyone for your amazing support of Severndroog Castle during the current uncertainty caused by the Coronavirus outbreak.

It is with sadness that we inform you that the Severndroog Castle Building Preservation Trust has taken the difficult decision to temporarily close Severndroog Castle to visitors from Friday the 20th of March 2020 until further notice, in order to avoid contributing to the spread of COVID-19. In addition, the health and wellbeing of all of our staff, volunteers and visitors is paramount and we feel it is not practical or responsible to continue.

We will monitor the situation closely and hopefully we will welcome all our volunteers and our visitors back soon.

The impact of COVID-19 is a critical threat to Severndroog, as it is to the livelihoods of almost everyone. Most of Severndroog’s funding comes from visitors, events, group/school visits and hires. Without these activities, the vast majority of our income is gone. If you would like to support us in this difficult time please join our NEW Supporters Group, volunteer your skills or donate to help keep us open for future generations.

Find out more about how to support us at this critical time.

We are determined to survive, to retain our small dedicated team, and to get the Castle back on track as soon as possible. We will be working on improving our online content and sharing our heritage and stories on social media with you while our doors are closed, so watch this space for some new and improved digital content.

Our part-time staff will continue to work from home and can be contacted via our website www.severndroogcastle.org.uk. We will continue to open for small, intimate private hires until the government advice changes.

Until we open the doors once again, take care and stay safe.

Thank you all for your much appreciated support and help!
