Cygnet Committee play Severndroog Friday Lates

 Join us on Friday 8th July to explore and enjoy the Castle after hours whilst being entertained in the open air at the second of our 2022 summer late night openings with Cygnet Committee. Tickets on sale from Wednesday 15th June, 12.00pm! Join us in the courtyard of historic Severndroog Castle, the only place you can enjoy a drink surrounded by ancient woodland and have 360° views of London and miles and miles beyond. Cygnet Committee: Stuart Swann (guitar and lead vocals); Blair Gould (guitar); Harvey Reehal (bass) and Jamie Faith (drums and backing vocals) promise an eclectic programme from the Cure to the Clash, via Bowie, the Stones and more, plenty to get you up dancing and singing. Cygnet Committee first came together to play at a summer gala in the Royal Arsenal in 2019. They went down a storm, and decided to keep going. Since then they have played extensively in SE London, including a memorable stint at the 2021 Plumstead Make Merry.  EARLY BOOKING IS RECOMMENDED. IT'S PARTY TIME Get ready to party with Sabrina Bell on Friday 22 May at 8pm

It’s Party Time! Guesting on Friday, 22 May at 8pm, local vocalist Sabrina Bell will be partying with you at home. At this party you can expect a fun and uplifting time with music from the 60s through to the present - soul, R & B, classic disco and pop anthems. In addition to gigs such as this, Sabrina performs with Eldorado Musical Productions and is also a popular children’s entertainer and vocalist. So, dress up (or down), don’t forget the bevvies and join us on Facebook for party night!Whilst you can’t come to us, we’re coming to you with weekly music and dance from some of your favourite Severndroog Late acts, and some guest artists. We hope you’re up for this party and can help ensure that Severndroog Castle re-opens to the public once the crisis is over by making a donation of £5 or more. When you donate via this link, we’ll send you an invite for the party.   Severndroog is a tower built in the 18th century situated in Castle Wood in the Oxleas Woodlands in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Built on Shooters Hill, one of the highest points in the city, the viewing platform boasts some of the most spectacular views in London. This folly was restored in 2013 and preserved by the Sevendroog Castle Preservation Trust. Described as ‘London’s best kept secret’. ‘Forget the Eye or the Shard, you just have to climb to the top of Severndroog Castle for the best views in London’.

SEASON LAUNCH - LIVE MOTOWN the first ever Severndroog Late At Home this Friday

SEASON LAUNCH Join us this Friday over on Facebook for the first ever Severndroog Late at Home featuring Motown classics from the fabulous Razamataz. While you can’t come to us, we will be coming to you with weekly music and dance from some of your favourite Severndroog acts. Starting on Friday 24th April at 8pm, direct from their home to yours, we couldn’t have anyone better than Heather and Roy of Lates regulars Razamataz to get the party started! Put on your glad rags, mix a cocktail and join us on Facebook for a sizzling set of uplifting Motown anthems. We are asking for a donation of £5 or more to help ensure that the doors of Severndroog Castle can re-open to the public once the crisis is over. FRIDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER: C&W Film Festival Screening of Hitchcock's 'Vertigo'

On Friday 13th of September, Severndroog Castle will be host to the Charlton & Woolwich Free Film Festival, showing an outdoor screening of Hitchcock's classic film Vertigo. We invite you to join us in the courtyard of the historic Severndroog Castle, the only place in the city you can enjoy a cocktail surrounded by ancient woodland and experience 360° views of London and its surrounding counties. Sit back, watch the sun slowly set and be thrilled by Hitchcock’s psychological thriller ‘Vertigo’ this Friday 13th. This year, the Charlton & Woolwich Film Festival has chosen to screen ‘Vertigo’, a 1958 American film noir psychological thriller directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock. The story was based on the 1954 novel ‘D'entre les morts’ (From Among the Dead) by Boileau-Narcejac. The screenplay was written by Alec Coppel and Samuel A. Taylor.   The film screening will start at 20:00 and will take place outside in our courtyard. Entry to the film screening itself is FREE and seats are issued on a first come first served basis. Food and drinks will be available to buy from Severndroog's partner The Terrace Tearoom. OCTOBERFEST - 4th Oct Folk band and London Views 

This October, Severndroog castle will be hosting its very own Octoberfest showcasing local craft beers and serving up BBQ German sausages.​  We invite you to join us at the only place in the city you can enjoy a chilled beer in a Castle surrounded by ancient woodland. Sit back and relax in the twilight, taste a range of craft beers and feast on barbequed food, all whilst listening to live folk music from local Eltham folk band Pytchwood and The Gillies.  It's a great evening to get to know the local brews and make the most of this picturesque time of year, surrounded by autumn leaves and folk songs. Should you wish to make the most of your experience, included with your entry ticket is access to our viewing platform, so you can take in our spectacular 360 views of London and the breath-taking sunsets. Looking westward over the city on a clear day you can experience perfect sunsets. The sunset will be at 18:30 at that time of year so grab the early tickets for the sunset view or book later tickets to enjoy the view by night.  Book tickets Here  FOLK BAND Pytchwood (the original name) started off as a two-person band with members Dave Kenningham and Zahira Al-Zahira, in August 2011, before more recently adding on two extra members, now calling themselves, Pytchwood & The Gillies. They have performed at many festivals, social events and folk clubs and will endeavour to create a unique experience for the listener.  Beers, wines, fresh food and soft drinks will be available for purchase from our catering partner, Terrace Tearoom, all evening. Given the time of year, this event will most likely be held indoors.
